1. Subhas Chandra Bose might have been alive after 1945, chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Friday after declassifying 64 secret files on Netaji. She also pressured the Centre to declassify the 130 secret documents it holds on Netaji.
2. To clean up the Cooum, chief minister J Jayalalithaa laid the foundation stone for an ambitious restoration project for the polluted waterway. The 27.3km-long river between Paruthipattu near Avadi and the river mouth would be restored at an estimated cost of an initial allocation of `605 crore, said an official release.
